Spicy Applesauce Cake


      • 1 1/2 cup applesauce
      • 1-1/4 cups sugar
      • 1/2 cup butter
      • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
      • 1 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
      • 1 teaspoons baking soda
      • 1 teaspoon salt
      • 1 teaspoon each ground cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and cloves
      • 1 cup raisins
      • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
      • 1/2 t. vanilla 
TOPPING:
      • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
      • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Directions
1.     Grease and flour 2 small loaf pans.
2.     Preheat oven to 350.
3.     In a large bowl, beat the applesauce, sugar and oil. Blend well at lowest speed of mixer. Beat 1 ½ minutes. Add egg and beat 1 ½ min.
4.     Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and cloves; gradually beat into applesauce mixture until blended. Stir in the raisins and walnuts.
5.     Pour into greased baking pans. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350° for 35-40
