Chocolate Pound Cake and Icing




1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs

3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tsp. almond flavoring

Directions:

Cream together the butter and shortening. Add sugar and mix well.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

Sift all dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients and milk and flavorings alternately until creamy.
Bake in 10 inch
greased and floured tube pan or bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

If you do not want a chocolate pound cake, just leave off the cocoa.


Mom's Recipe Box 

Chocolate Icing
2 cups sugar
1 small can evaporated milk (5 oz.)
10 large marshmallow
1 stick butter
1 -6oz. chocolate chips

Put sugar, milk, marshmallows, and butter in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Cook 6 min. from time it starts to boil. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips. Beat until thick and ready to spread.
